| The Demographics of
the State of California and her Small Businesses |
 |
 |
 |
State's Demographics: (Our Source Materials) Est.
Population of the State: 36+M
On
finding the best small businesses
Total number of California
small businesses: 2.8M
Our Targeted Goal for
Weekly Viewers:
800K per week Segmentation:
owners,
employees,
PBS,
underemployed
Our Targeted Number of Profiles in California: 28,000 Just 1% of the total small
businesses within the state |
|
Out of
the 36+ million people in California State, SmallBusinessSchool will
focus first, on the 2.8+ million small business owners, and then on their
employees (half of the state's working population) and finally on their
customers (the rest of the state's population). |
 |
|
We will
especially focus on having a population of at least 400K viewers which will be
10% of all business owners and 5% of their employees. The other 400K viewers
will be from the other half of the working population who has an idea for a
business and the general PBS television audience. |
 |
|
Our
target number of profiles, both online 28,000 or just 1% of the total number of
small businesses in the state 2800 television profiles broadcast (that is .1%
of the total) |
 |
|
All of
these businesses are run by people who have been recommended from within their
communities. Nobody has ever paid, or will ever be able to pay, to be on any of
these lists. Our
selection criteria is here, but we rely
mostly on the small business advocates listed on the resources pages linked
above. |
