| Economic freedom, the last frontier |
 |
|
|
 |
| Liberty, freedom,
and democracy are all a deep- seated thrust within life itself to exercise our
"creativity gene" for continuous improvement. |

Owners of their destiny. Small
business owners are driven by ownership. Early on they thought to themselves,
"I want to own my own business." Often they are the first to own their own
home. They already own their retirement account, even though most never plan to
retire. We've heard so many say, "That's the shortest path to death." Today
most of these small business owners even own their health savings plan and they
own up to healthy living for themselves and their family. |
 |
| By risking the status quo, exploring new ideas,
and charting the creation of new products, processes and jobs, small business
owners lead by example. They are quiet heroes in their communities.

 |
| There is a special magic to being small. In

First, let's put the 'right' people on TV.
 "You're
fired" is Donald Trump's real signature and represents not only his
callousness, but the shallowness of all business when it comes to understanding
the very nature of business. |

| "The Apprentice" and all so-called "Reality TV"
manipulate reality. With so much of commercial television and our cinema,
exploitation is lifted up as an art form; by cleverly shaping every second,
they encourage the weak and poor in spirit, confuse the marginal, and weaken
the strong. |

| There can be tough love in the workplace that
truly nurtures and empowers people. |

| There can be companies of hard-working people
moving toward a common goal that "win" just because they are doing something
good for people, constructive within their industry and positive for the world
and her environment. |

| Since 1994, we have told the stories of hundreds
of small business owners. Today our goals is to turn over the future
productions to the best local producers around the country -- 100 local shows,
13 episodes per year. That's no less than 1300 profiles of wonderful small
business owners each year. The best of these productions would air
nationally.
These
are our first principles. |

| That's a goal and a mission! We invite you to nominate very special small
business owners who are quietly helping the rest of us to change this world for
the better. Let's explore the depths of free enterprise, democracy, respect,
risk, value, and good work. Let's turn off the bad examples and lift up people
who are "loved by their community and respected within their
industry." |
