Pages have been
tested to give you access to a small business data dictionary, your own
section within our database, and an array of 1500+ interactive questions where
your answers fill in a template for your own unique profile page and study
guide on this site. You can then opt to include your own streaming video clip,
and/or be listed in one of the "Small Business Index of Learning Companies."
Security of
privileged data is our first concern.
We are implementing
a four-level security system whereby everybody who registers and works through
some lessons within the online learning will be able to automatically build a
presence within this site. Additionally you will have options to participate in
the development of key critical ratios for your industry at the same time
privileged data is protected by record and by field.
Wherever
secured, access to key data is controlled (authorized) by the owner of the
data.
This data will be
aggregated by industry and used to build industry-specific
critical ratios,
indicators of the overall health and direction of a business. Ratios were
discussed in our first season of programs in 1994.
We are inviting all
small business owners (and people who want to be small business owners) to
build a listing within this site. We encourage everybody who comes to
the site to register and work through any of the exercises within the site. If
you submit the data, you may secure it (up to four levels of security), then
come back and add to it as often as you want. You could even build your online
case for raising money -- either debt (loans) or equity capital.
Please
Register. There are three ways that you could benefit:
1. Online Learning.
These are MasterClasses, lessons taught by a working professional, not a
teacher. It is where you see the principles of business being applied
day-by-day. In our MasterClass there are four components: (1) the video stream,
(2) Executive Summary or Profile, (3) Study Guide and (4) Transcript. The 130
classes are organized so you access just those classes that can help you at
your level of business.
2. Shows and
Clips. The television shows become your advocate. You are automatically on
our list of people (and your business) to whom we turn for story ideas, as the
subject of a show, or for a show clip. You will be invited to events whenever
we come into your area to speak or to shoot a story (in your state or
country).
3. The Index of
Learning Companies. Listing. You may decide to
list your business in
the database by your business name, by
state and country, and by
business type. You can additionally choose to
make public any part of your information -- your URL, e-mail, telephone and fax
and any of the other data you submit. You can secure your information to be
totally private and/or you can choose to make parts of it limitedly available
to those alliances that can help you further grow your business. These
are our Small Business Index of Learning Companies.
Goal. One of
our goals is to have a statistically significant number of small businesses
registered so meaningful key critical ratios can be generated. There are 25
million in the USA alone. There will be at least 40, as many as 70, and
possibly over 1000 industry segments.
For each of these
segments it would be good to have a statistically significant number (as few as
60 business) to provide meaningful feedback to all our business owners. Also,
we want to try your data will be correlated through a data dictionary to every
step of growth. We choose to make this site a resource of tactical knowledge
and strategic inspiration for small business owners.
Levels of
Security. Security is being tested. There will be no public access to your
data until you, the owner of that information, declare the information as
either public or private. As soon as possible, when you register,
your initial security key is based on your e-mail address. You will be given
additional levels of security to protect any data that you register. These
levels of security are:
|
Owner
Secured |
| (1) |
Owner's
data (update/delete data). The owner of the data is the only person
with access to the data. |
| (2) |
Investor
data (owner-authorized access). The only people given access to the data
are those who are given passwords by the owner of the data.
|
|
Site
Secured |
| (3) |
Alliance
data (qualified access). Only those pre-qualified have access to
data. |
| (4) |
Ratio data only (no link to
name/address, for critical ratio tabulations). |
|
Public data,
but only owner updated |
You can begin
creating your own database for your own profile today by registering and
enrolling in a course . As this model progresses, we will all enjoy your
feedback.
