How it is "From $0 to a Billion in a liftetime"
gives "0-to-60 in 3 seconds" a good run. |
 |
| Time: There are 60 seconds in a minute, 360
seconds in an hour, 8640 seconds in a day, and 3,153,600 seconds in a year. The
world's fastest production
automobile is called the McLaren F1 and it
accelerates to 60 MPH in 3 seconds. |
 |
| From 0 to 60 in 5 seconds is an average of 12 mph
per second increase. In the fastest cars, three seconds, or 20 mph
increase per second. |
 |
| Value: The perceived value is units, speed
on one hand and dollars on the other. Both carry special weights and though it
is not apples-to-apples, there is a metaphorical overlay in valuation
structure. So, just for comparison, if a person goes "from $0 to $1B in less
than a lifetime," how does it compute? |
 |
| Dollars: Let's say you amass $1B in
fifty-years ($20 million per year), you would be doing $6.34 per second, $380
per minute and over $2283 per hour (even while you sleep). But reduce that time
to a $1B to ten years, and you are earning over $11K per hour or $1800 per "60
seconds", or in relative terms, about $30 per second versus the automobile's 20
mph per second. Now, that's a metaphorical stretch here. To compute it more
elegantly we'll need the help an algorithmic genius! Volunteers? |

PUBLISHING: Many publications have been tracking billionaires for years.
There are multiple rankings and several ways to slice and dice the information.
Of course, we are only interested in those people who started their business
and they are still driving that business.
We all know Bill Gates and Warren Buffett; many
know Michael Dell and his computers. And though you may not know her name --
Joanne Kathleen Rowling -- you know her work, the Harry Potter series; it made
her wealthier than the Queen of England! Of course, Steven Spielburg, George
Lucas, Ophrah Winfrey, and Donald Trump are household names. Charles Schwab and
Abigal and Ned (father) Johnson of Fidelity are among the investment gurus.
John Bogle of Vanguard can't be far behind.
Then, within the web circles there are the
founders of Yahoo, Ebay, Google, Amazon, and lesser knowns like
Broadcast.com.
We are looking for truth that transcends time and
insights that can help each of us in our own business. Who would you like to
study? Recommend somebody you know! |
