- Ratings (More)
- The goal should be to create a new television phenomenon
that is based on grassroots viewership such that the show is rated among the
most-watched in each geography.
- Local PBS-member stations will be transformed where today
most struggle for survival.
- Each PBS station is a broadcast signal and currently reach
into 99% of all television households. The programming of several of these
stations is also carried by the local cable stations, DirecTV and Dish Network.
The signal is rebroadcast by the Voice of America and by literally thousands of
cable stations throughout the world. Eventually these broadcasts and their
collaboration events that follow will become a transformative power within
business.
- Public-Education-Government (PEG) stations
involved.
- Many of the PEG stations are tied to local Economic
Development Commissions.
- All want to tell the stories of their local businesses who
do best practices.
- There are about 1400+ PEG stations and many have asked to
air SmallBusinessSchool. Some stations are being given rights to do so
when episodes run their course on PBS-member stations or the PBS-affiliate has
no room in their schedule for the show.
- Many want to produce new episodes within their market space
and could readily produce three or four episodes per year. Although these will
not be highly produced episodes as you would find on PBS-member stations, each
episode will promote interest in the PBS-member station's broadcasts and could
well become the first audition.
