Bend, Oregon:
Meet Jim Schell. He wants you to have an advisory group -- a council of peers
-- and he doesn't want you to go broke to be part of it. Some of these groups
charge $10K per year. His groups are called, Opportunity Knocks, or OK Groups
and they're just $99. Jim is the thought leader. Instead of retiring -- he is
married to a beautiful woman who won't let him age -- Jim decided to give back.
He's got his money ... he started and sold several businesses; and though he
wrote the book, Small Business for Dummies, he wants to do more to help.
He's been our resident entrepreneur since 1995.

Human Nature: None of us ever forget our
worst mistakes. Nothing teaches like experience and we can all benefit from
those folks who have walked over the coals -- they've earned their stripes --
and they remember their own pitfalls. Why should we do the same stupid things
when these folks are anxious to help out and guide us?
Only a fool says, "I have all the answers." We all
need somebody to slow us down and go over the details just one more time. What
did we miss? What are we not seeing? Where are the weaknesses? What strengths
should be leveraged? In story after story, we have met teachers, preachers,
coaches and counselors who have cautioned us, "Get some help!" It is good
advice for all of us.
